Talented rider MotoGP team San Carlo Gresini's Marco Simoncelli, died after a fatal crash in Sepang October last year. Ahead of F1 racing in this weekend's Malaysian GP, turns sadness due to the incident still blanketed Ferrari, Fernando Alonso.

Alonso says F1 race in Sepang this year's edition will be sad for him because of a fatal accident that befell his colleague, Simoncelli, after colliding with Colin Edwards and Valentino Rossi at the corner-11.

"After the accident Marco (Simoncelli) last year, racing here is always a little sad, because one of our colleagues died here. This will be a tough race," said Alonso at Sepang, Malaysia quoted as saying by news agency, Bernama.

"There is no plan anything (to commemorate Simoncelli). We just took a picture this afternoon with Felipe Massa and the rest of the team at the bend 11, where the incident occurred. And I think this will be special memories for him and the whole family Ferrari, "he continued.

Switched to chance in the race later, the Spaniard is hoping Ferrari can grab a target they were after. Sense of optimism he stretcher after a race in Melbourne last week.

"It's clear the target has always been a world champion but it was not possible in the past two years. This year we are sure to go fighting over it. In Australia, we had the start, pit-stop, and with a good strategy. We can put ourselves in a decent place , "added Alonso.

"We will try to do the same here and try to maintain as many points as possible and stay focused because we saw a lot of determination owned this team," said the double world champion.

Alonso limped home fifth behind the two Red Bull and McLaren at the Australian GP on race weekend.
